No, the application is not compatible with the ImagePrograph Pro-1000 printer. I've checked the official website and Print Studio Pro is listed to be compatible with the following printers:
PIXMA PRO-1
PIXMA PRO-10
PIXMA PRO-100
There is nothing mentioned about Pro-1000 printer, therefore it can't be used properly with it or if you manage to install it, the software won't recognize the printer.
When I try to print using PSP, it tries to open but then the error message comes back - A printer supported is not found. I'm using it as a Plug-in for Lightroom 5.5 and Windows 7 64bit. Any ideas?

This means that the plug-in you're using to connect the printer to the application does not have support for this printer. Instead of using plug-in, try taking advantage of the built-in Print function. Select Custom package from Lightroom, configure the image and the settings then use the default printing method. If the printer is installed correctly, everything should be fine.
I was using Print Studio Pro with Photoshop (on a Mac) when suddenly PSP disappeared from screen leaving Photoshop completely frozen, I can neither find Print Studio nor close or do anything with Photoshop. Can anyone help?

You need to check in the Programs list. Go to Start > Control Panel > Programs and Features > Uninstall a program. The applications should be listed there. If they're not, it means they've been uninstalled because of an error, mistake, or because of another's program uninstall.
In case the apps are there, go to C:\Program Files and search them in that location. Most likely, only the shortcuts to the main executables have been deleted. You can restore them by right clicking and selecting Send to > Desktop (Create shortcut).
